Alyssa Jones-Smith Director of Youth Ministry for Junior and Senior High and Singles
Alyssa Jones-Smith was born and raised in Wayne, New Jersey and was baptized and confirmed at St. Timothy Lutheran Church where she has been an active member. She is a graduate of Montclair State University with a BA in Psychology. She was a Volunteer Youth Group Advisor for seven years. During that time she implemented and ran a program for youth in fourth through twelfth grades. Before coming to Colorado Springs in March, she attended class at General Theoglogical Seminary (Episcopal) in New York City, completing a course in storytelling to children and youth.
We welcome Alyssa to the staff of First Lutheran and look forward to her directing our youth ministry program. Alyssa begins her work the beginning of July. In the meantime, she will be helping with Vacation Church School and Youth Ministry. |
