Dear Christian Family,

Sunday was a red letter day in the life of our congregation. Bishop Allan Bjornberg was with us and preached at the first two services and officiated at the ordination of Carrie Ann Baylis at the third service. It was a moving and memorable worship experience. The choir and bell choir gave their support at the three morning services.

I want to personally commend Joan Kuehn for her leadership of the vocal and bell choirs, and for acting as our organist for the morning as Evan was on vacation.  The music was outstanding. I look forward to the choir returning to the music leadership of our congregation on September 12th. Dave and Mary Rose also did an exceptional job with the public address system, audio and video recording, as did Carman Jaumott with preparing the bulletin and Norman Sauppé for photography. To all who helped make this a memorable morning, thank you, thank you, thank you!

Our 118th congregational potluck picnic was held in the afternoon. It was a well attended event with plenty of food, fellowship and entertainment. Many thanks to Judy Wach for her coordination of the event.

Finally, I want to encourage every member to mark their calendars for September 12, which is not only Rally Day, but the end of the summer Catch Up Sunday as well. Church giving seems to always fall short during the summer months. Therefore, it is necessary for all members who are not current in their planned giving to catch up at this time...or move in that direction as far as possible. If you need your current giving status please call George Smith at 632-8836.

I look forward to sharing the first communion of September with you this coming Lord’s Day, the 15th Sunday of our Pentecost journey.

Peace, Love and Joy,

PS: During the month of August you contributed two truck loads of clothing and 2,300 pounds of food to Ecumenical Social Ministries. Thank you...thank you... thank you.

“Well done good and faithful servants!”
